Spotify Wrapped
Unraveling the stories behind my top songs, top artists...
As you are all aware, it's wrapped season, recap season or whatever it is called depending on the platform you use.
As for me, I use Spotify for listening to music and streaming songs. I’m writing to you to show you the behind the scenes of what contribute to some songs featuring in my top songs, some artists making my top artists, top albums, podcasts etc.
Top Songs

Channeled my inner C.A.C boy to constantly chant Minister Mike Iwo Loye song. No surprises at all
The depth of the ‘Oloruko Aperire’ chant by Minister Adura Ojofeitimi is just too powerful.
If I Could Have Anything by Housefires was my major prayer point this year. I prayed with the song consciously and unconsciously. Powerful sound communicating the confessions of a son or daughter that solely and genuinely seek to please their king.
The spontaneous session of Chandler Moore during the ‘Yahweh’ ministration helps you to realise that God is truly great and He alone is to be lifted high.
Top Artists

My Top Artist, Maverick City Music. Third year in a row. Never in doubt.
Minister GUC, 1Spirit & Theophilus Sunday have always been a constant presence as well.
Two new faces in Minister Mike & Minister Ojofeitimi. I'm sure it is the song, Iwo Loye that propelled Minister Mike into this position. It was the only song of his I listened to. But you could say it is fair after listening to the song a whooping 196 times.
Discovered Minister Adura late last year and she is just a powerful worship leader. Her worship ministrations makes you feel like you are in the room and connects you to the person of Jesus Christ.
Top Albums

To Yahweh's Delight by Minister GUC arguably is one of the best and Spirit-filled project released by a contemporary gospel minister in Nigeria. I highly recommend.
Anytime I see this my top albums lineup, it gives me the chills. Such powerful projects.
And all these albums have one thing in common: they bring you closer to the person of Jesus through their soul-lifting and Holy Spirit inspired lyrics. I recommend all.
Top Podcasts

I listened to different podcasts but two stood out - My father, Apostle Femi Lazarus and TheWayUk. But somehow, Spotify decided to present me with only My father's. Well, I guess it is because out of the 4,719 minutes listened, Apostle cupped a huge chunk of 3,268 minutes. Listening to Apostle this year has been really life changing for me. Sermons like Operating in the corridors of power, Discerning your kairos moment through prayer, Kingdom finance, Introduction to power amongst many others carry so much light and transformative power.
Thank you so much Apostle Femi Lazarus for yielding. In your light, I continue to find light.
Final Thoughts

Music is food for the soul. It really matters the kind of lyrics, words that you allow your mind process. One of the things that I believe define a human is the kind of music you listen to.
