It's my birthday, guys.
I think I have made it a habit to write to you guys on my birthday and this year, I don't want to default on that but then my thoughts are scattered.
I would have loved to write one C.S. Lewis-esque advice or one Aristotle-inspired motivation address but today I'm just grateful. I'm just a really grateful soul.
The previous year has been a year of ups and downs, olds and news, successes and failures etc. But one thing I know that is evident is growth. I have learnt and I am still learning.
Like I said earlier, I am just a grateful soul. I am grateful to God for life. I have not been the best son for real and sometimes I do some silly things but God has just been a big daddy for real. Thank you once again, Abba.
I am grateful to God for my family. The peace that I have that home is always there is one of the most amazing feelings ever. It is so reassuring. One thing I've realised is that family isn't the absence of disagreements but the presence of I've still got your back regardless of our differences.
I am grateful for my friends — wonderful sets of people to be honest. Time would fail me if I start mentioning names but I want you guys to know that I love you all so very much. We are going to have a big birthday bash definitely in the nearest future.
Also, I'm grateful to God for my colleagues at work, church folks, neighbours, social media acquaintances, my sweet mentees and all well meaning people. You guys make life so beautiful and colourful.
I've just been thinking, I may not have all the money in the world but I have people that genuinely love me and that in itself is wealth on its own.
This new year of mine, I haven't thought about so many resolutions but to keep living, keep growing as a person, becoming the best version of myself and walking in alignment with what God wants for me and from me. Let me reiterate again, this year I really want God, I really want His fullness. I am desperate for Him.
I would be lying if I said I haven't thought about marriage as well. My next birthday newsletter may be titled Birthday/Wedding Newsletter. You never can tell.
There is a lot to do and I am genuinely trusting God for strength, grace and empowerment. Please above all keep me in your prayers.
